To accept payments with Payment Link, you’ll need a payment gateway. A payment gateway is just the service that securely moves money from your customer’s card into your bank account.

Payment Link uses Stripe, one of the biggest and most trusted gateways in the world. You can either connect your existing Stripe account or create a new one directly inside Payment Link — it only takes a few minutes and doesn’t require any technical setup.

All payment gateways charge a fee for collecting payments. Stripe charge 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards and 2.5% + 20p for EU cards. They deduct this automatically and pay you the rest.

You don’t need to have a Stripe account to get started. All that can be done from the Payment Link dashboard.
